Tropical Band Survey - Part 2

Moving on up the dial to the 75 m and 60 m bands, this week I found broadcasters on the following frequencies:
3912.0
3925.0
3945.0
3985.0
4450.0
4557.0
4765.0
4835.0
4840.0
4970.0
5000.0
5025.0
5040.0
5070.0

The sources included Voice of the People (South Korea), Radio Nikkei 1 (Japan), Echo of Hope (South Korea), a North Korean jammer, Radio Progreso (Cuba), Radio Australia, WWCR, Voice of Strait (China), WWV, WWVH, Radio Rebelde (Cuba), Radio Habana Cuba, WWCR, WTWW.

Because of the 1,600 kHz Perseus span I was using, there was also some "by catch" outside the broadcast bands. On 3885 kHz I found a net with participants from BC, Washington, Oregon. Voice conversations on the 80 m amateur band would not normally catch my attention but these people were using AM and their signals had outstanding audio quality. I suspect that some of them were using surplus broadcast transmitters. In contrast, the 4426 kHz weather broadcast from NMC in Point Reyes, CA looked and sounded horribly overmodulated on Thursday evening. I was also surprised to hear what I assume from its frequency and call sign to have been a MARS station using straight-keyed CW.
